In the start of 2018 Xiaomi launched its note successor as the 6th generation note phone but as previous generation got the pro variant this generation too received the pro variant and Xiaomi will be continuing launching the note series with two variants one with pro and one without.

Recently Xiaomi announced that Redmi will be the sub brand under Xiaomi, after updating of the MIUI the booting also changes like we get the Xiaomi at the front now we get Redmi by Xiaomi while booting up the device.

Design & Overview

Looking at the phone it got a simple plastic back like as compared to its predecessor. The screen contains a huge notch as Xiaomi introduced dual selfie camera at front. At the right side we get the power button along with volume rockers. At the top there is a secondary noise cancellation mic, 3.5 mm headphone jack along with IR blaster, there is hybrid slot tray at the left side and at the bottom we get the USB type b port along with the speaker and a microphone.

At the front you can see the huge notch display and in the display we get the earpiece integrated in mesh like metallic structure along with dual selfie cameras with flash. At back we get the dual rear camera setup which has a slight bump along with the fingerprint sensor placed at ideal location for your index finger to unlock the device. At bottom we can see the Xiaomi branding

Display

Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with 6.26-inch FHD+ IPS LCS display having the resolution of 1080*2280 resulting into 403 PPI. The display itself feels big when compared with Redmi 6 pro and previous gen Redmi note 5 pro.

Core

It is powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset clocked all 8 cores at 1.8 GHz with Kryo 260 and Adreno 509 GPU.

It has got Honor own MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo (upgradable to MIUI 10 with android 9.0 pie)out of the box. The UI from Xiaomi is quite heavy as compared to the stock OS but it doesn’t let you feel the difference the performance is quite great as the note series have been so far. Although you get the regular set of apps or bloatware from the Xiaomi which fortunately cannot be removed. Never the less the MIUI skin looks quite great too as it has been designed and the regular updates optimizes the device properly.

Camera

It houses dual rear camera setup which has main camera of 12 MP with aperture f/1.9 and a depth sensor of 5 MP with aperture f/2.2. It has video capability up to 1080p at 30 fps.

Coming to the selfie camera, it has dual setup of 20MP selfie shooter with aperture f/2.0 along with 5 MP depth sensor with aperture f/2.2 which also has video rate at 1080p at 30fps.

Storage

It comes in the three storage option one which is of 3GB/32GB on-board storage, other is of 4GB/64GB variant and another higher variant which has 6GB/64GB option. All of which can be expanded up to 256GB via hybrid sim 2 slot.

Battery and Connectivity

The Redmi Note 6 Pro has got standard battery backup of 4000mAh which the note series is constant from the Note 4 along with the proprietary 10W charger. This can last for a day or day and a half on medium usage. Sadly it has got USB type b port instead of type c port.

It houses generally all the sensor which mobile phone should contain.
