Hailing from a remote area of Kerala, Dinoj witnessed firsthand the crushing reality of medical services failing to reach people when they needed help most.
This observation became a powerful motivator, driving him to develop a system that puts mobility, speed, and safety first above all else.
What is a Portable Operation Theatre?
Simply put, it’s a compact, fully functional surgical suite that weighs less than 30 kilograms, folds up, and can be transported almost anywhere.
The design isn’t just about portability; it’s about maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness found in permanent hospitals. The equipment includes:
- A portable sterile enclosure (the tent itself).
- An air purification system that ensures no outside contaminants enter the surgical space.
- Foldable operating tables, surgical gowns, hand-wash units, and instruments.
The entire unit can be set up by just two or three people in a matter of minutes, allowing a team of up to four surgeons and assistants to perform life-saving procedures, including complicated ones like C-section deliveries.
